It all began with a 1978 catalog for the “International Art Exhibition for Palestine,” organized by the Palestine Liberation Organization’s (PLO) cultural department. Featuring contributions from dozens of international artists, the exhibition traveled to various cities worldwide as part of a wider transcontinental framework of solidarity. After returning to Beirut, however, the exhibition was destroyed by Israeli bombing during the 1982 invasion of Lebanon. Hoping to revive this lost exhibition, for over a decade curators Rasha Salti and Kristine Khouri have embarked on a research-based quest, inspiring six global editions of the archival and documentary exhibition
“Past Disquiet.”
