In February, curator and writer Reuben Keehan was appointed artistic director of the forthcoming Kontempo – Center for Contemporary Art, a forthcoming institution in Manila developed by the Philippines-based Ayala Foundation. Keehan is relocating from Australia, ending his 15-year tenure as curator of contemporary art at Brisbane’s Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art.
In India, Manuel Rabaté has assumed the role of chief executive officer and director at New Delhi’s Kiran Nadar Museum of Art, bringing over 25 years of museum leadership experience. He previously served as the inaugural director of Louvre Abu Dhabi, overseeing its operations and global development since 2016.
In March, the Kochi Biennale Foundation named board member Jitish Kallat as president of the Kochi-Muziris Biennale (KMB), succeeding Bose Krishnamachari, who resigned in January. A Mumbai-based artist, Kallat previously served as curator and artistic director for KMB’s second edition in 2014–15.
