In February, Iraqi artist Ali Eyal received the Hammer Museum’s USD 100,000 Mohn Award, which supports emerging artists working in the greater Los Angeles area.

Over in Tokyo, Japanese artist Mari Katayama, who explores embodied experiences through handsewn sculptures and analog photography, won the Mori Contemporary Art Foundation’s inaugural JPY 10 million (USD 63,000) Mori Art Award. 

In March, Korean media artist Jeamin Cha clinched the Hermès Foundation’s 21st Missulsang, securing KRW 30 million (USD 20,000) and production support for a solo exhibition at Seoul’s Atelier Hermès in May 2027.
