Fragments of plastic, Styrofoam, paper, or other abandoned materials drifting through our everyday surroundings often go unnoticed—their origins unknown and purposes obsolete. For South Korean artist Leehaiminsun, such disregarded ephemera act as inspiration for her explorations of materiality and liminal states; in a more philosophical sense, the fleeting nature of time and the vulnerability of human existence.
