In May, Yogyakarta-based multimedia artist Dian Suci won the 10th Max Mara Art Prize for Women. The first Indonesian artist to receive the accolade, Suci will embark on a six-month residency in Italy and present two solo exhibitions in 2027.

Tokyo-based poet and artist Gōzō Yoshimasu received the inaugural Serpentine x FLAG Art Foundation Prize, taking home a substantial GBP 200,000 (USD 270,000). 

Japan’s Fukuoka Prize Committee named Ho Tzu Nyen as its 2026 Grand Prize laureate, making him the first Singaporean artist to receive the JPY five million (USD 31,500) award.
