Career Moves: New Horizons

In Australia, leadership changes ushered in fresh starts. The Art Gallery of South Australia (AGSA) director Rhana Devenport ended her six-year tenure on July 7. Since her appointment in 2018, AGSA has reported four million visitors, and the institution’s programming engaged nearly two million people in 2023. Devenport also expanded AGSA’s collection through philanthropic support, fundraising, and acquisitions of works by renowned artists. She returned to Sydney to pursue a series of new international and national projects. Her replacement has not yet been named.
