In mid-September, the Barcelona-based Han Nefkens Foundation, the Mori Art Museum in Tokyo, M+ in Hong Kong, and the Singapore Art Museum named Beijing-based Hao Jingban the winner of its USD 100,000 Moving Image Commission 2023.

Indian photographer Gauri Gill was awarded the 10th photography and sustainability Prix Pictet on September 28 for her black-and-white portrait series Notes from the Desert (1999– ), receiving a prize worth USD 109,000. The 30th edition of the annual Wolfgang Hahn Prize, from the Museum Ludwig in Cologne, was been awarded to Anna Boghiguian, who will take home USD 105,000.
