The Hong Kong-based Sunpride Foundation has announced that it will collaborate with Seoul’s nonprofit Art Sonje Center for its fourth exhibition in Asia, scheduled to open in early 2026. The presentation will engage with contemporary Korean queer art and spotlight artists from across the Asia Pacific region, as part of the foundation’s ongoing commitment to promoting equality and diversity for the LGBTQ+ community through partnerships with major cultural institutions.

The initiative builds on the Sunpride Foundation’s history of significant institutional collaborations and shows across Asia. Previous exhibitions include “Myth Makers–Spectrosynthesis III” (2022–23) at Hong Kong’s Tai Kwun; “Spectrosynthesis II–Exposure of Tolerance: LGBTQ in Southeast Asia” (2019–20) at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre; and “Spectrosynthesis–Asian LGBTQ Issues and Art Now” (2017) at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Taipei.

In a press release, Sunpride Foundation’s founder and executive director Patrick Sun lauded Seoul as “a dynamic city, rich in character and with a thriving arts community, adding that “[w]e are delighted to have the opportunity to champion the work of LGBTQ+ artists and allies within this context.”

Further details about the project will be revealed in late March.
