“Revival,” the theme of this year’s show, explores struggle and rebirth, self-awareness and evolution. The exhibition showcases work by students who will graduate in 2023, as well as work by current students and alumni.

“Revival” represents the awakening after silence. While revivals are preceded by long periods of stagnation, decline, revivals also mark a moment of rebirth and transcendence. We evolve in tranquility and flourish amidst ruins. Society has experienced unprecedented turbulence accompanied by silence where we bade farewell to many people and things and struggled between leaving and staying. This year, we are finally regaining our strength. We cannot rewrite the last three years, and we have not forgotten the collective grief and anger we experienced. These feelings, however, have also made us stronger and more resilient beings.

The exhibition will be open to the public from July 14 to July 30, from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

The opening ceremony will take place on July 14th at 7:00 pm.

Film previews will be held on July 15 and 16, from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm.

The closing party and a live performance will be held on July 28th, from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm, providing an opportunity for everyone to celebrate and enjoy the exhibition together.

SCM looks forward to welcoming you to the SCM Annual Show 2023: “Revival.”
