Career Moves
In April, Lebanese-born architect Lina Ghotmeh was selected to design Qatar’s permanent pavilion at the Venice Biennale, the third country to join the Giardini in more than 50 years. The founder of a Paris-based architecture firm, Ghotmeh is known for projects that blend ecological concerns with traditional craftsmanship.
In the same month, the Gwangju Biennale announced Singaporean artist and filmmaker Ho Tzu Nyen as the artistic director of its 16th edition, set to open in September 2026. Ho is known for his films, video installations, and performances exploring themes of mythology, cultural identity, and history in Southeast Asia.
