Young Writers Contest 2021

ArtAsiaPacific’s Young Writers Contest is back! Writers will have the chance to be published in the magazine, as well as receive feedback from the editors.

This year, we are inviting young writers from across the globe to submit a 1,000-word essay on one of the following topics:

A) Art and Failure

B) Digital Possibilities

Your essay should discuss at least three artworks and should be contextualized within ArtAsiaPacific’s region of coverage: Asia, the Pacific, and the Middle East.

Judges will be looking for essays written in a fluid, engaged style with strong critical arguments, and that demonstrate clarity and knowledge of the chosen topic.

The author must be younger than 30 years old on September 1, 2021, to be eligible to enter.

The author must not have been previously published in ArtAsiaPacific magazine or on artasiapacific.com.

The word count of the article must fall between 900 and 1,000 words.

The winning article will be published in the print edition of ArtAsiaPacific. The winner will also receive a year’s print subscription to ArtAsiaPacific and will have the chance to work closely with one of the magazine’s editors.

Second and third prize winners will also receive a year’s print subscription to ArtAsiaPacific, and their articles will be published online.

DEADLINE: JULY 15, 2021.
